Join The Bloomsburg Bibliophiles on the second Saturday of each month as we discuss popular literary fiction and nonfiction. Led by Sean Dunne, this book club is for anyone interested in books that explore universal human experiences, social issues, and philosophical questions. We’ll be having coffee and tea while we pore over every last symbol and metaphor.

About the book: This historical fiction pick is set in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, primarily in the 1920s and 30s, exploring the interconnected lives of the Black and Jewish communities in the Chicken Hill neighborhood. The story begins with the discovery of a skeleton in 1972, leading back to the past to uncover the secrets and relationships within the community, particularly focusing on the lives of Moshe and Chona Ludlow, who own the titular grocery store and a local theater.
