Program Description

Event Details

This free workshop gives parents and guardians of young children an opportunity to discuss ways to help their young children navigate differences and diversity among people.

We’ll begin together with a brief welcome. Then, children and adults will split up for further discussions.

Children will enjoy a Diversity Storytime. This storytime invites children to explore big ideas like kindness, identity, and inclusion through engaging picture books, interactive questions, and open-ended conversations—all designed to celebrate what makes us unique and what connects us.

Adults will stay to dig deeper into the discussion. We will focus on using children’s literature as a tool to support these discussions, reflect on our own experiences and attitudes around difference, and learn some tips to help young children positively interact with our diverse community.

Seats are limited.
