Fibers: Basic Needlefelting: Painting with Wool

In this workshop, you will get to enjoy the mediative and therapeutic benefits of getting to stab something, repeatedly, for hours. You will learn why wool felts, and how to use it creatively. We will also discuss color theory and color blending, and you will make a small, two-dimensional artwork.

This process is also a fun method for visible mending on wool sweaters, so feel free to bring any that you may have that have small holes. You may also want to bring a reference image for your felt “painting,” like a favorite landscape or animal. All other supplies will be provided.

What happens if you’re not done at 3:00? You will have the option to add on another hour of work time for $10 at the end of the class.

Ages: recommended 12+ (Note: this process does use sharp tools. Parents, please use your judgment on whether your child is mature enough. Feel free to use the contact form for any additional questions or concerns.)
