Printmaking: Drypoint Intaglio Using Household Materials

A drypoint etching depicting a landscape with a foreground of jagged trees or brush, and a sky filled with four large, fluffy clouds rendered with detailed lines. The etching is centered on a white sheet of paper that has a slight indentation around the image from the printing process, and the paper is set against a warm, wooden background.$35.00 - Please register here

Traditionally, drypoint prints are made with sheets of metal and expensive printing presses. In this class you will learn how to upcycle your plastic recycling instead of copper or zinc plates and use a pasta machine instead of a traditional printing press. It’s printmaking for the people!

In this class, I will show you how to use a tool to scratch your image into rescued plastic recycling, ink the plate, and print it. Please wear work clothes as this process can be a little messy.

All materials provided.

What happens if you’re not done at 3:00? You will have the option to add on another hour of work time for $10 at the end of the class.

Ages: recommended 12+ (Parents: this process uses sharp tools and thick ink. Please use your judgment on the maturity of your child. Feel free to contact me using the website’s form should you have additional questions.)
